Minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics or a technical/quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in operations, strategy, management, or product operations roles with core responsibilities of building relationships and leading operational initiatives.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience executing complex strategic and operational initiatives, with exceptional problem-solving skills, combined with business acumen.
- Technical acumen with experience working with engineering or operations teams.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and import and export talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.

Within Core is the Data organization. Core Data is responsible for data at Google, working closely with teams across the company to serve their data needs. The Core Data product suite offers end-to-end data management solutions, infrastructure, and foundations for Google products, including flagship products such as Search, Ads, YouTube, and Geo. Core Data’s mission is to unlock the power of Google’s data – by enabling product teams to build the next generation of data driven innovations for end-users.
Core Data plays a unique and critical role in “organizing the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful” and get to partner with most of the Product Areas at Google to do so.
As a Director, you will support the leadership of our Data infrastructure team. You will act as a multiplier for the team's leadership, ensuring smooth operations, driving strategic initiatives, and fostering communication within the team and across the organization.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $256,000-$360,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Drive the formation of our strategic outlook and roadmap. Define and lead strategic and operational initiatives.
- Serve as proxy for the Vice President of Data and be an advocate for the leader within the team and across Google, and serve as a critical partner on initiatives around engineering excellence and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead a team of Core Data pillar Chief of Staffs and program management team to plan and execute on business operations as well as cross Core Data programs.
- Cultivate and own strategic cross-functional relationships with Finance, People Operations, Program Management Office, and Site Reliability, ensuring seamless alignment and collaboration on critical initiatives and operational processes related to the Data’s objectives.
