I'm hiring for a chief of staff for the CEO office at Writer.
It's a Level 3 type of CoS role — ie, responsible for truly sharing my CEO responsibilities.
We're intense and organized at Writer.
And so operating cadence — board mtgs, leadership mtgs, OKRs, etc — aren't actually your responsibility like they are for many CoSs — that's covered by our leaders in Ops and Finance and Waseem Alshikh's CoS, the brilliant Karen Situ.
With 2 incredible EAs in the CEO office and a strong field team, the planning for major events and travel (I was on the road +220 days last year) is also covered.
And thanks to a ridiculously talented executive team, I delegate, a lot.
What remains on my plate — and hence yours — is the ambiguously-defined role I like to play in the company:
(1) Connecting the dots and forcing straight lines rather than circuitous ones *before* the evidence becomes overwhelming for a change in plan: that requires living on the front lines with our customer-facing teams (I spend as much if not more time with ICs as with our leadership team) and breathing in the way enterprises are building with Writer and the business value Writer provides
(2) Instilling and scaling the Writer culture and high-performance orientation across the company, and especially across the +300 people we will be hiring in 2025 (2x'ing the team)
(3) Building and maintaining the deep executive relationships with customers and partners that take us into the real daily challenges of leaders who are trying to transform their organizations to be AI-first
