About the team

The Partnerships Finance and Strategy team sits within the broader Finance and Strategy team and acts as a financial and strategic partner to Stripe’s Global Partnerships team in evaluating and executing high-impact partner deals and initiatives. Our team is responsible for providing actionable financial and analytical insights and recommendations on investment cases, commercial deals, and Stripe’s partner ecosystem, in support of Stripe’s overall business strategy, growth, and optimization. Our work is highly visible to Stripe leadership and will drive key insights and decisions for partnerships and product teams and executives.

What you’ll do

To further this important mission, we are looking for a team member to evaluate and execute deals and initiatives with new and existing partners in close collaboration with the Global Partnerships team. As part of the role, you will build investment cases, conduct financial analysis and benchmarking on commercial partner deals, and offer recommendations and insights to Partner Development Managers and Product Managers. In addition, you will leverage your financial acumen to provide advice on strategic initiatives with partners and ongoing partner management. The role will also require close coordination internally with other cross-functional teams, including Product and Engineering, Pricing, Strategy and Operations, Treasury Finance, Accounting, and other Finance and Strategy teams.

Responsibilities

Act as a financial and strategic advisor to the Global Partnerships team in evaluating and executing partner deals and investment cases
Leverage financial modeling, analysis, and benchmarking to evaluate the financial impact and performance of partner initiatives and investments
Develop analytical insights across a range of partners (e.g., local payment methods, banks, networks), in order to identify and execute strategic or optimization opportunities
Work with cross-functional partners, including Product and Engineering, Pricing, Strategy and Operations, Treasury Finance, Accounting, and other Finance and Strategy teams.
Support the development of financial frameworks, metrics, and reporting to provide observability of key partner metrics and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.
Partner with Global Partnerships leaders to drive strategic and financial planning processes (e.g., business reviews, forecasts, opex and headcount management).

Minimum requirements

At least 8 years of experience in strategic finance at a high-growth company. Investment banking and/or private equity experience will also be considered.
Exceptional analytical capabilities and business acumen, with the ability to simplify and distill complex information in a rigorous but consumable way
Proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners and executives; you are seen as a trusted and objective advisor
An enthusiastic self-starter with a "roll up your sleeves" mentality
Ability to manage multiple work streams and maintain high performance under tight timelines
Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment
Deep understanding of payments, card networks, and/or banks, highly preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications

Experience with SQL or a willingness to learn is a must
Experience as a finance business partner supporting a partnerships or deal-making function

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is £80,000 - £120,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
